Marvin Mozlin

Wildlife Artist and Carver

bullet

Marv is a life-long native of Pennsylvania where his boyhood years of fishing and observing wildlife influenced his development as an artist.  He began carving about twenty eight years ago, and after attending his first show, it was love at first sight which has now become an obsession.

bullet    Marv majored in art throughout his school years, receiving various awards for his work which culminated in his receiving a scholarship to the Philadelphia Museum School of Art.  However, it was not until years later, after going into business and raising a family, that he was inspired to paint again.

Marv's special love is to carve and paint hens and upland game birds giving them a natural feeling and attitude with warm earth tone colors.  Most of his birds are carved from a solid block of wood.  Marv is an avid hunter and his carvings capture the birds as he sees them in their natural environment expressing the proudness and singular individuality of the species.

Hand carved birds that Marv has crafted include upland game birds, birds of prey, water foul, decorative decoys, and owls. Realistic and lifelike wood carving. Nature as art and art reflecting nature.
